The riders do not appear to be responding to an emergency, despite blue lights being on.<\/p>\n<h2>Dash cam owner speaks out<\/h2>\n<p>The owner of the dashboard camera spoke out about the incident and expressed his concern over the manoeuvre captured in the footage: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>&#8220;There was absolutely no reason that I could see for the police biker to merge immediately into outside lane. Thankfully traffic was a little bit behind me otherwise there could have been a serious crash.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The incident happened on a busy motorway where one wrong or sudden move like this could have easily caused a serious accident.<\/p>\n<h3>No indication of an emergency<\/h3>\n<p>Later on in the footage, the two motorcyclists look to be joined by another four motorcyclists and two regular police cars. The parade of officers calmly passes by in a tight formation: the motorbikes in pairs and the two cars following closely behind.<\/p>\n<p>There is no indication that there is any element of urgency or necessity for the earlier manoeuvre.<\/p>\n<h3>Video hits the headlines at &#8220;Scotland\u2019s Worst Drivers&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>The video was captured on the M8 close to Glasgow and has already been noticed by &#8220;Scotland&#8217;s Worst Drivers&#8221;. The Scottish campaigners of safe driving spoke out against the motorcyclist&#8217;s actions: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><em>&#8220;While the police biker had his blue lights on, he nearly ended up under the wheels of the dashcam car.
